CPIML General Secretary Reaffirms Solidarity with Palestine in Meeting with Palestinian Ambassador

CPI(ML) Liberation General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya met Palestine’s Ambassador to India, Abdullah M. Abu Shawesh, at the Party’s Parliamentary Office in Delhi on October 28. Comrade Rajiv Dimri, General Secretary of the All India Central Council of Trade Unions (AICCTU), Comrade V. Arun Kumar from the Party’s International Affairs Department, and Comrade Prasenjeet, General Secretary of the All India Students’ Association (AISA), were also present during the interaction.

During the meeting, Comrade Dipankar reaffirmed CPI(ML) Liberation’s unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people and their struggle for freedom, justice and self-determination. He saluted the steadfast resistance of the Palestinian people and reiterated the Party’s commitment to the Palestinian liberation struggle.

Ambassador Abdullah M. Abu Shawesh thanked the progressive people of India for their consistent solidarity with Palestine and the Palestinian people.

The meeting also discussed the urgent need to stop the genocide in Gaza and end Israel’s occupation of Palestine. The struggle for Palestinian liberation remains a major challenge before peace-loving and freedom-loving people across the world.

Comrade Dipankar emphasised that India's democratic public opinion and its traditional foreign policy had long stood in support of the Palestinian cause. However, the Modi government's pro-Israel stance has derailed and muted India's official position on Palestine in international forums. Despite this shift in the government's position, India's democratic public opinion continues to stand firmly with Palestine.
