The two-day Bihar State Committee meeting of the CPI(ML) Liberation concluded at the party state office in Kadamkuan, Patna. The meeting was attended by General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, Polit Bureau member Swadesh Bhattacharya, Bihar State Secretary Kunal, along with State Secretariat members Dhirendra Jha, Amar, Meena Tiwari, Shashi Yadav, and members of the State Committee.
The meeting began on 15 May with a detailed review of the current political situation and organisational tasks. It noted the growing expansion of the BJP across several states, including West Bengal, and underlined the serious challenges posed by its agenda to democracy, federalism, and civil rights. The State Committee observed that initiatives such as delimitation and One Nation One Election are being advanced to further centralise power and restrict democratic space in the country.
The Committee firmly rejected the narrative that the BJP and the central government are politically invincible. It noted that ongoing struggles of students and youth, workers and farmers, and widespread mobilisation around employment, social justice, and democratic rights clearly demonstrate the rising resistance and aspiration for change among the people.
While discussing recent electoral outcomes, the meeting noted setbacks faced by the opposition but reaffirmed that these do not diminish the relevance of Left politics. It stressed the need to deepen mass struggles, strengthen organisational work, and advance broader Left-democratic unity as a decisive political task in the present period.
The second day of the meeting focused on organisational consolidation and mass mobilisation. The State Committee decided to launch a large-scale outreach programme among more than 10 lakh Dalit poor, landless households, and rural workers across Bihar. It resolved to conduct a special membership campaign of the Khet Mazdoor Sabha from 15 June to 15 July, linking it directly to issues of rural employment, MGNREGA work guarantee, land rights, housing, and social security.
The meeting set ambitious organisational targets of 30 lakh members for the Khet Mazdoor Sabha and 5 lakh members for the All India Kisan Mahasabha, and called for sustained village-level mobilisation, expansion of organisational networks, and intensification of struggles on issues affecting the rural poor.
It further resolved to strengthen intervention among migrant workers, peasants, agricultural labourers, Dalits, Adivasis, women, and youth across the state and country, and to enhance coordination among mass organisations and platforms to strengthen collective struggles.
The State Committee also reviewed preparations for the upcoming national conferences of the All India Kisan Mahasabha and the All India Agricultural Workers Union (Khet Mazdoor Sabha). It decided to intensify organisational work in this direction and ensure strong participation from Bihar.
The meeting reaffirmed its resolve to build a broad-based resistance against attacks on democracy, the Constitution, and people’s rights. It resolved to intensify struggles against displacement, bulldozer demolitions, land alienation, and attacks on livelihood rights, while strengthening movements around land, housing, employment, education, and dignified living conditions.
The State Committee concluded that in the coming period, the central focus of the party will remain on expanding political and organisational work among the working people and strengthening mass struggles against exploitation and authoritarian attacks on democratic rights.
